West Des Moines Attempted Robbery Cases 17-03243 & 17-03244

On July 12, 2017 at approximately 8:17 A.M. West Des Moines Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Marine Credit Union located at 909 9th Street in reference to what employees believe was an attempted robbery. A subject described as a black male 5-10 to 6-00 thin build, wearing black pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, red bandana over the face and black and white “air Jordan” type shoes, attempted to enter the bank. Employees were not inside the bank at the time, as it was not open when this male was attempting to enter. He fled the area after realizing the bank doors were locked.

At around 0848, a West Des Moines Police Officer was checking other area banks and was inside the First National Bank alerting employees to what had happened at the Marine Credit Union. A male subject that was described almost exactly like the first, entered the bank with the officer inside. The male turned and fled back outside the bank in a North West direction.

We are asking for the public’s help in identifying this suspect and if you have any information please call 515-222-3321 We have attached several pictures of the suspect below:
