Two road closures set for May 29 in West Des Moines

Post Date:05/25/2018 9:35 AM
On Tuesday, May 29, at 9 a.m., the City of West Des Moines will be closing two roads so crews can complete construction projects.

The first project will close Ashworth Road at the 88th Street intersection until early August. During the closure, the contractor will finish underground utility installations, and grading and paving of the road. No access will be allowed on the Ashworth Road bridge over I-80. The detour route will take vehicles north on Grand Prairie Parkway, east on University Avenue, and then south on Jordan Creek Parkway.

The second project will close a small section of SE County Line Road for several months just east of S. Orilla Road to the Great Western Trail. This closure will allow the contractor to install underground utilities and grade and pave Veterans Parkway. Please note that Veterans Parkway north of SE Maffitt Lake Road will involve only lane closures for median work. A lane will be open in each direction for traffic at all times on Veterans Parkway.
